Despite solo careers, Ella, Hebe and Selina of Taiwan girl band S.H.E. will stay as one

MANY pop groups disband within a few years. Will S.H.E. -- which has been around for eight years - face the same fate?
No, they won't, said its record label HIM International Music.
Instead, each member of the Taiwanese all-girl group - Selina, Hebe and Ella - will be developing her career individually while keeping the group intact.
A spokesman for HIM International Music said: 'Based on their different traits and strengths, they will realise their potential individually. But they will still stay as one. S.H.E. will not become history.'
Ella, the comedienne among the three, will continue to focus on acting.
Selina will work on hosting variety shows.
Hebe will further develop her strength in producing music albums. She will be the first to release a solo album, which is in the planning stage.
She said: 'My favourite way of performing has always been singing. It's extremely joyful to be able to sing the songs I like, and this way of delivery allows the most direct form of interaction with our fans.'
Selina's father, Ren Mingting, has written a book and even hosted an entertainment programme.
A chip off the old block, she said: 'Hosting variety shows is the best way to test one's spontaneity and ability to help guests get into the mood and theme of the programme. It's a tough challenge.
'As a replacement host for variety show Mr Con And Ms Csi, I enjoyed interacting with my co-host and the guests.'

Not only are the three young women taking on different artistic directions, they are now appearing in advertisements separately too.
So far this year, members of S.H.E. have already appeared in 15 different ads in China and Taiwan. This is the highest number among Taiwanese artistes.
Ella endorsed a sports drink, Selina became the face for a women's health drink, and Hebe was in a teeth-whitening ad.
Laughing, Ella said: 'If we shoot an advertisement together, the fee will be higher. Engaging us separately brings joy to everyone!'
